Photoshop Report

steps followed in photoshop

  1. document setup

a new photoshop document was created (approx. landscape rectangular orientation).

the background was filled with a neutral beige gradient to give the composition a warm luxury feel.

  1. importing the jewelry image

the wire jewelry design was placed at the center of the canvas.

free transform (ctrl/cmd + t) was used to make it larger and rotated it to create a balanced composition.

soft drop shadow or outer glow (optional) was applied if depth was desired.

  1. adding the brand text

the text tool (t) was used to type “david yurman” in the top center.

an elegant serif typeface comparable to luxury brand aesthetics was selected.

the tracking, line height, and capitalization were adjusted for an elegant look.

a slight shadow or stroke was added for better visibility against the gradient background.

  1. importing the portraits

the three individual portrait photos (left, center, and right) were imported.

the following steps were used for each portrait:

convert to black & white:

image → adjustments → black & white

(or a b&w adjustment layer was used for nondestructive editing)

masking using select & mask:

subjects were selected using select → subject

edges were refined with the refine edge brush tool

output was set as layer mask for clean cutouts.

lighting/contrast adjustments:

levels, curves, or brightness/contrast were used to create consistency among all portraits.

  1. positioning the portraits

the portraits were positioned side by side at the bottom:

the left portrait was placed on the bottom-left.

the middle subject was centered.

the right portrait was positioned on the bottom-right with arms crossed.

  1. 1. source material preparation

the first step was to prepare the source material by importing product images of jewelry items:i.e.,

bracelet

necklace

rings (multiple)

and any additional decorative elements.

then, the resolution was checked, and the canvas size was adjusted such that the jewelry products were in a balanced way.

  1. background creation

for the background, a vibrant orange gradient was used to complement the luxury feel of the jewelry.

first, a solid color fill was applied to the background layer, and the color was set to a warm gradient of orange for a fresh and modern look.

next, the smooth transitions were ensured with soft blending to create a striking visual contrast for the jewelry.

  1. jewelry product composition

the jewelry images were imported onto separate layers.

the quick selection tool or the pen tool was used to cut the backgrounds from the jewelry items.

then, they were placed on the canvas for visual balance: the center pendant necklace was placed front and center.

bracelets and rings were scattered in the background with rotation for a floating, dynamic look.

  1. shadow & depth effects

soft drop shadows were created for each piece of jewelry to give them a floating, 3d effect.

shadow distance and opacity were adjusted for each object.

gaussian blur was used to soften shadows and make them look more natural.

layer styles (such as inner glow or outer glow) were applied lightly to enhance product visibility.

  1. color adjustments

first, the hue/saturation layers were applied to adjust brightness and contrast which brought out the details of each jewelry piece.

metallic tones were enhanced by fine-tuning highlight and shadow settings on the jewelry objects.

lastly, selective color adjustment was used to keep the orange background rich while maintaining clarity in the product colors.

  1. composition and layer management

jewelry items were arranged in such a way that the visual weight was distributed across the canvas in a balanced manner.

photoshop’s smart guides and snap-to functionality were used to check alignment and spacing.

layers were named (e.g., “bracelet layer,” “necklace layer,” “ring layers”) so that editing would be easier.

  1. logo/text integration (optional)

brand logo or text was added if needed.

a luxury font was used to match the jewelry’s aesthetic, most probably bold or elegant font styles were applied.

the logo was placed at the top or bottom for good visibility with the right kerning and tracking to ensure a neat display.

  1. final touches

a final adjustment layer was applied for overall color grading to make sure the image had a unified look.

the dodge/burn tools were used optionally to accentuate jewelry reflections and shadows.

the edges of the jewelry were slightly softened for a flawless, invisible finish.

  1. exporting

the last image was saved in high-resolution jpeg or png format.

the image was inspected for sharpness, making sure it would look sharp in both digital ads and print.

the file size was reduced without any quality loss, and it was kept at a level suitable for websites or social media.

  1. 1. source material preparation

first, the earrings’ jewelry images were imported into photoshop.

then, the resolution was checked and the canvas size was adjusted accordingly to create an appropriate space for the earrings in the composition.

  1. background creation

a gradient background was applied:

the color scheme consisted of soft gold and cream tones.

the gradient was positioned in such a way that the transition was smooth and did not overpower the product.

light curves were added on the sides for elegance, imitating flowing ribbons or fabric to coordinate with the jewelry’s luxurious appeal.

  1. jewelry product composition

the earrings were brought in on different layers so that they could be positioned with precision.

the pen tool or quick selection tool was employed to remove any extra background from the earrings.

both earrings were placed symmetrically on either side of the canvas to create a layout that was balanced and professional.

the earrings were positioned in such a way as to direct the viewer’s attention right to the product.

  1. shadow & depth effects

for each earring, subtle drop shadows were applied to achieve a 3d effect and depth:

the shadow opacity and distance were adjusted for a soft, elegant touch.

gaussian blur was used to make sure that the shadows were blended into the background perfectly.

  1. color adjustments

the colors of the earrings were fine-tuned to highlight their metallic tones by using:

hue/saturation adjustment layers.

selective color to increase contrast and ensure the silver and gold components of the jewelry are visible.

the gradient background was made to match the jewelry but not to be distracting, thus keeping the product in focus.

  1. composition and layer management

all layers were organized in a way that editing would be easy:

special groups were created for earrings, background, and extra effects.

perfect symmetry was preserved by adjusting alignment and spacing with photoshop’s guides and alignment tools.

  1. final touches

lighting and contrast were enhanced by applying curves or levels adjustments to the image.

color grading or a final lut adjustment was added optionally to unify the tones and give an elegant, cohesive look to the image.

harsh lines were avoided by softening edges or feathering, which ensured a smooth transition between the jewelry and background.

  1. exporting

the high-res jpeg or png format was used for the final image, which would be clear and vibrant for reproduction.

the image was made suitable for both web and print by ensuring that the file size was balanced with quality.

jewelry clarity was checked to make sure that it was shown in the best light, with product details kept sharp.

  1. Objectives & Scope

Purpose of the site

The intention of the site is to create a specially designed microsite (or sub-site) that would be a part of the larger real-estate/lifestyle branding of “Yurman” collection. To present the products (for instance, the jewelry items) or the brand imagery in a simple but effective way that is mainly focused on the visual aspect.

To offer a web presence that would be in line with luxury branding (elegant layout, high-quality images, seamless user interface, etc.).

To create a site structure that could be easily managed using the WordPress backend – also making it easy for content updates, media uploads, and future expansions.

Scope & Features

The main or landing page consisting of large images or product visuals.

Image galleries or sections where products are displayed.

Responsive design (for desktop, tablet, and mobile).

Typography and styling that are clean and correspond with the brand’s aesthetic.

Possibility to control the content and the visuals without requiring any further coding (through WordPress CMS).

Basic site configuration: theme, plugins (if any), navigation menu, metadata, and so forth.

  1. Project Setup & Planning

Prior to the commencement of the development phase, the following steps were taken as preparation:

The requirements and specs were defined: layout style (modern, clean, luxury look), necessary pages/components, image quality, responsiveness, navigation structure.

A project brief was created which listed objectives, target audience (clients, prospects), content types (images, possibly descriptions), and delivery timeline. This follows the most effective practices for WordPress projects: clear brief → defined layout, structure, features. The development workflow was decided upon: employing WordPress as a CMS + selecting the appropriate theme or applying custom styling.

  1. Development Workflow (WordPress Build)

The following detailed workflow corresponds to the standard WordPress best practice and is the one used to create the site:

3.1 Local / Staging Environment Setup

Prepare a local development environment (for instance, utilizing a local server or staging site) to construct and examine the site before it becomes public. This allows for zero-risk alteration, personalization, and quality assurance.

A fresh WordPress instance was installed for the project.

3.2 Theme Selection / Customization

The WordPress theme was picked for the luxurious brand style, clean and image-driven, i.e., the selection was done considering basic/flexible themes or starter ones and then customizing through the use of free, premium, or custom themes that is standard practice. WordPress’s theming system is so flexible that it allows for design changes without altering the core.

Wikipedia

If a starter theme was used (or a custom theme built), set up proper theme folder, file structure, and necessary template files (e.g. header, footer, page templates). Following best-practice in theme development — modular, maintainable code.

3.3 Content & Media Preparation

Purchased high-quality images (e.g. jewelry, branding visuals) and then optimized them.

Compressed/optimized images for web (size vs quality), ensuring fast loading without sacrificing visual fidelity.

Prepared the layouts of the pages: decided where the hero images, galleries, product displays, and texts (if any) would go.

3.4 Site Configuration & Customization

The media and content was imported/added through the WordPress “Media” and “Pages/Posts” sections as required.

The menus/navigation was configured to represent the structure (home, collections, gallery/product pages, contact or info page if needed) applied custom CSS styling (or used theme settings) to match brand identity: fonts, colors, spacing, background — ensuring consistency with the “luxury

  1. Deployment & Launch

After the site was thoroughly tested and approved in the staging/local environment, it was deployed to the live server (i.e., the domain yurman.ktimatoemporiki.com).

Domain settings, SSL (if applicable), site-URL, and WP settings (permalinks, reading settings, SEO metadata if needed) were configured.

Final live site was verified across devices/browsers after deployment to catch any environment-specific issues.

  1. Post-Launch & Maintenance Considerations

The site being WordPress-based and using a theme (or upholding a custom theme), site maintenance is reduced to manageable: there is no need for coding and things like content updates, image insertions, and layout changes can be done.

Maintain WordPress security and performance by following its recommended practices: constantly updating core, theme and any plug-in (if applied) to the latest versions is the most important measure.

We can have performance, responsiveness, backups, and security checks, scheduling them at regular intervals, as an optional step (especially if the site will grow or more dynamic features will be integrated).

  1. Summary & Reflection

The development of yurman.ktimatoemporiki.com was done using a professional WordPress workflow that was very well-structured: from the well-defined brief and planning → local development and testing → media preparation & content filling → customization and styling → very good quality assurance → live deployment → maintenance-ready setup.

By using the flexibility of WordPress (themes, CMS, and media management), you built a clean, brand-aligned, and easy-to-maintain website that effectively displays products/imagery without being complicated or incurring unnecessary technical debt.

The described method is consistent with the WordPress site development modern standards and practices: modular code or theme usage, no direct core edits; media optimization; responsive design; testing; separation of development/testing and production; and maintainability.
